The idea for the stones was initiated by Steve Leung Designers for the Shangri-La Hotel at The Shard, London. I adapted the concept towards pebble-like shapes. There is a strange ambiguity about the stones floating thirty-two stories above London.

The stones are hammer-formed from sheet steel to allow for light-weight sculptures with a subtle organic texture, finished with a lacquered black patina.

The Stones were commissioned by Shangri La Hotels via Steve Leung Designers and Walsh Greene Art & Design Consultancy.
The Shangri-La @ the Shard will open in early 2014.
