CYCLES  is an iteration of my fascination with closed loops and  presents a first attempt at a twisting volume rather than an open surface. It was designed in CAD by lofting a number of distorted, rotated hexagonal cross sections placed in a circle, with an element of chance.

Formed from layers of Corten sheet metal, gently stretched into the compound curvatures needed for the twisting body. It connects with itself to create a single continuous band.

Originally created for the McClelland Sculpture Survey & Award 2012, it was also on show at Sculpture by the Sea at Cottesloe, WA, in  March 2014. Now in a private collection in WA.
Dimensions: 2.1 x 2.1 x 0.7m
